Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Regional Medical Scientific Director in Cardiopulmonary & Pulmonary Hypertension to lead external scientific exchange and support data generation for trials within the Mid-Atlantic region.

The role requires credentialed expertise and a track record in cardiovascular/pulmonary sciences. The position emphasizes building peer-level relationships with scientific leaders, investigators and health systems, while aligning with R&D and Medical Affairs strategy.

Qualifications

• Three years in biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
• Three years clinical and/or research in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary therapeutic areas or five years Medical Scientific Liaison experience.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, networking and presentation skills.
• Deep therapeutic competency and up-to-date knowledge in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary areas.
• Experience partnering with external scientific leaders and investigators.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage relationships with national, regional and clinical practice scientific leaders to address scientific needs and provide access to data.
• Conduct peer-level scientific discussions and maintain a reliable external contact within the company.
• Engage in proactive non-product scientific discussions to inform strategy and clinical programs.
• Facilitate scientific exchange and integrate knowledge to inform R&D and Human Health strategies.
• Represent R&D at scientific meetings and contribute to debriefs and post-congress reports.
• Support Investigator Study Programs and ISP activities as requested by leadership.
• Identify investigators for potential participation in phase II–IV programs and provide scientific support for trials.
• Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams.
