Job summary

Merck is seeking a Regional Medical Scientific Director in the Cardiopulmonary & Pulmonary Hypertension space. The role requires MD/PhD/PharmD or APP credentials, extensive biotech/pharma experience, and leadership in external scientific engagement.

You will develop peer-level relationships with national and regional scientific leaders, support data generation for company trials, and help guide external collaborations while aligning with Research & Development and Medical Affairs strategies.

Qualifications

• Three years in biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
• Three years clinical and/or research in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary areas or five years in Medical Scientific Liaison in a relevant area.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, networking and presentation skills.
• Deep therapeutic competency in Cardiovascular & Pulmonary/translational science.
• Ability to build external partnerships with scientific leaders and investigators.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage relationships with national, regional and clinical leaders to address scientific needs.
• Provide scientific information on areas of interest and company data to SLs.
• Support data generation activities for sponsored trials and ISP programs.
• Assist in identifying investigators for phase II–IV programs and provide scientific support.
• Provide in-depth scientific support to Health Systems Teams.
• Stay current with disease areas through conferences, journals and workshops.
