Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Allentown is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Float Team – SLPG to support practices across the region.

The role includes preparing patients, taking vital signs, assisting with injections, and coordinating with the care team. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant program; two years' healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Graduates of accredited Medical Assistant programs are strongly preferred.
• Two years' experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient’s medical record.
• Pre-charting of value-based pieces up to five days before appointment.
• Prepare patients for examination including vitals, medication and allergy updates, and patient history.
• Assist with patient transport, specimen handling, injections or immunizations as per state guidelines.
• Coordinate with Care Team on discharge, ED visits, labs and specialist visits.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and waste disposal per protocol.
• Travel to SLPG practices within the assigned region.
