Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management is seeking a Regional Reimbursement Coordinator to lead MDS services across multiple facilities in New Mexico. The role ensures compliance with Medicare/Medicaid, trains MDS Coordinators, and supports clinical leadership in PDPM and related regulations.

The ideal candidate is an RN with 5+ years in long-term or acute care, plus 3+ years regional MDS experience, capable of coordinating with the Compliance Team to optimize quality and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• RN license in state practiced.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• Minimum of five (5) years in long-term or acute health care.
• Minimum of five (5) years working as an MDS Nurse in long-term or acute health care.
• At least three (3) years of multi-facility, regional MDS experience.

Responsibilities

• Consults with and provides technical assistance to the MDS Coordinators through visits and interpretation of policies.
• Trains new MDS Coordinators on resident assessments and plans of care.
• Trains new MDS Coordinators on the RAI manual and deadlines for assessments.
• Observes MDS practices for compliance with standards and regs.
• Inspects facilities and nursing practices for compliance with standards and regulations.
• May assume interim MDS Coordinator role as needed.
• Train facility MDS on company best practices with Compliance Team.
• Lead facility management staff in developing and executing business plans.
