Job summary

In this regional role, you will mentor facility MDS coordinators, support survey readiness, partner with interdisciplinary teams, and travel to sites to deliver on-site training and auditing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years MDS/RAI experience with leadership or trainer roles.
• Strong knowledge of PDPM and clinical reimbursement.
• Current RN license in Michigan and/or Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and support to facility MDS Coordinators across assigned facilities.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments in compliance with CMS/state regulations.
• Audit documentation, coding, and assessment accuracy to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement.
• Mentor, train, and provide ongoing education to facility-level MDS staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with DONs, Administrators, and Therapy teams on accurate clinical documentation.
• Monitor PDPM performance and recommend strategies for optimization.
• Assist facilities in survey readiness and corrective action planning related to MDS.
• Partner with Corporate Director of MDS on policies, systems, and program rollouts.
• Analyze regional MDS data, trends, and compliance reports, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Travel to facilities to provide on-site support, training, and auditing.

Position Summary:

The Regional MDS Coordinator provides multi-facility oversight and support for the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) processes. This role ensures timely, accurate completion of MDS assessments, compliance with CMS regulations, and optimization of reimbursement under PDPM. The Regional MDS serves as a mentor and trainer for facility-level MDS Coordinators, supports survey readiness, and partners with interdisciplinary teams to improve documentation, care planning, and resident outcomes.

Required:

• Current RN license in Michigan and/or Ohio.
• 5+ years of MDS/RAI experience, including leadership or training responsibilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PDPM and clinical reimbursement.

Preferred:

• RAC-CT certification.
• Multi-facility or regional MDS leadership experience.
• Experience with survey preparation and response.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Travel up to 50% to facilities across assigned region.
• Frequent walking, standing, and participation in chart reviews.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and carry laptop/equipment for site visits.
