Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Regional Mass Care Manager to oversee regionwide mass care planning and volunteer-led disaster cycle services, including feeding, sheltering, and recovery activities. You will supervise volunteers, coordinate community partnerships, and deploy to disaster operations outside your region at least once a year.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in leading volunteer teams, with strong communication and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams.
• Travel: Travel may be required; valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a diverse volunteer team implementing volunteer-led disaster cycle services.
• Implement disaster cycle services activities within a geographic area or region.
• Develop disaster volunteers to meet responsibilities in readiness, response and recovery.
• Engage community partners and organizations to mobilize communities for disasters.
• Coordinate disaster relief operations in alignment with the Disaster Cycle Services concept of operations.
