Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Regional Mass Care Manager to lead regionwide disaster services planning, including feeding, sheltering, and distribution of supplies. You will mobilize volunteers and ensure communities are prepared to respond to disasters, with deployments outside the region as needed.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience leading volunteer teams in social services, plus travel readiness and a valid driver's license.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Empower Volunteers: Lead a diverse volunteer team for disaster services in the assigned area.
  • Lead the Program: Implement disaster cycle services within the region or specific functions.
  • Mission Capacity Building: Develop disaster leadership volunteers and partner organizations.
  • Engage Community: Mobilize communities and engage partners with functional assets.
  • Manage in a Matrix: Build relationships with internal partners and volunteers.
  • Know Your Communities: Serve as subject matter expert to maximize Red Cross presence.
  • Ready to Respond: Initiate and coordinate disaster relief operations in the region.
