Job summary

A leading Am Law firm in Los Angeles seeks a Managing Attorney – Regional to lead the Managing Attorney’s Office (MAO). This senior role blends substantive litigation and appellate work with operations leadership and personnel oversight across offices.

You will advise attorneys on litigation procedures, supervise MAO staff, manage docketing and calendaring, and drive efficiency through data, analytics, and AI tools while collaborating with courts, vendors, and business teams.

Qualifications

• JD required and admitted to practice in relevant jurisdictions.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state court systems, civil and appellate procedure.
• Experience guiding attorneys on procedural strategy and calendaring.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience in a legal setting.
• Proficient research, writing, and presenting skills; familiarity with major litigation databases.

Responsibilities

• Advise attorneys and case teams on litigation, appellate, arbitration, and regulatory procedure.
• Research and interpret court rules and filing requirements across jurisdictions.
• Provide guidance on calendaring, deadlines, and procedural strategy.
• Review filings for accuracy and compliance with court rules.
• Oversee docketing, calendaring, court filings, and service of process; manage MAO personnel.
