Job summary

Akers Packaging, founded in 1963 and based in Middletown, OH, seeks a Regional Controller to lead accounting across multiple Midwest facilities. You will manage month-end closes, drive financial analysis, and support business decisions with data-driven insights.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller and building a strong team, you will guide BI initiatives, oversee a successful Dynamics Business Central rollout, and ensure accurate financial reporting and controls across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant financial experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with cost and inventory accounting highly preferred.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems/upgrades and streamlining accounting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables, SUMIF, modeling).

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close for multiple locations.
• Consolidate plant results and provide analysis on revenue, margin, and spending.
• Perform discrepancy and variance analysis for decision support.
• Coordinate annual forecast and budget by division for the region.
• Oversee fixed asset tracking and inventory management.
• Develop and automate financial systems and processes.
• Support internal and external audits and GAAP compliance.
