Job Description

The Plant Controller serves as the financial leader for the plant and a key member of the plant leadership team. This highly visible role oversees all plant accounting activities and provides critical financial insights to guide operational decisions and long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct plant accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly statements, annual budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage month‑end close processes and validate the accuracy of financial statements.
• Analyze overhead, cost of sales, and manufacturing costs; identify variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods. Maintain material cost standards for accurate product costing.
• Coordinate and participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Review and match invoices to receipts, ensuring proper account coding.
• Oversee accounting for plant fixed assets and repairs, including capital expenditure requests.
• Ensure production processes impacting financial data are accurately executed.
• Implement and maintain systems and controls to safeguard assets, processes, and data integrity.
• Identify cost trends and collaborate with plant teams to develop cost‑saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–3 years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; QAD experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.
