Hallcon Corporation is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to coordinate daily field activities ensuring safe and timely transportation services. You will oversee site supervisors, yard and road coordinators and drivers, while coordinating staffing and training needs.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and 1–2 years of management experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Employment Law and safety practices is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with clean record within past 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily field operations to ensure safe and timely transportation for customers.
  • Supervise site supervisors, yard coordinators, road coordinators and drivers.
  • Train and hire new employees and ensure adequate staffing for peak demand.
  • Maintain vehicle safety, cleanliness and proper reporting of incidents and wear.
  • Communicate with customer field management and coordinate with HR for terminations when needed.
  • Audit safety, productivity and service metrics to meet company goals.

Hallcon is a transportation and related infrastructure services company that serves clients such as technology companies, manufacturers, railroads, universities, corporate business parks, hospitals, airports, public transportation networks and more.Hallcon provides essential services spanning multi-modal operations, integrated command centers, electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, technology integration, analytics, business intelligence, fleet management, specialty cleaning, and overall rider experience performance.

Role Overview

Responsible for the daily coordination of field operational issues to ensure safe and timely transportation service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports company’s safety goals, including but not limited to audits, staffing, training, vehicle maintenance.
  • Communicate with customer’s field management personnel, i.e. superintendents, trainmasters, safety officers, etc.
  • Ensure all locations are adequately staffed for maximum van utilization and customer service.
  • Perform function of road or yard drivers to ensure adequate customer service when required.
  • Hire and train new employees.
  • Ensure an adequate number of relief drivers to provide for maximum van utilization and customer service.
  • Ensure road drivers are scheduled to assure time off for full time drivers and assignments for relief drivers and vehicles are staffed with a driver 7 days per week.
  • Ensure yard drivers are scheduled to provide adequate yard coverage.
  • Ensure drivers are treated in a FAIR and CONSISTENT manner.
  • Conduct Corrective Actions meetings with drivers.
  • Consult with HR prior to employee terminations to ensure proper documentation.
  • Recognize and award drivers for extra effort and a job well done.
  • Ensure all personnel information and paperwork is submitted to the HR Office in timely fashion.
  • Ensure all checks are dispersed in a timely manner
  • Supervise all Site Supervisors, Yard Coordinators, Road Coordinators and Drivers.
  • Train local supervisors in job responsibilities and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining local supervisors; monitor performance results.
  • Conduct required safety training for all drivers in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct regular meetings with local supervisors and drivers regarding service and safety issues.
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and maintained in accordance with the company policies.
  • Audit monthly inspection logs performed by yard coordinators, site supervisors and road coordinators to ensure completion.
  • Conduct periodic physical van inspections.
  • Communicate with the Fleet Department regarding maintenance problems, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the repair of a vehicle with input from the Fleet Department based on cost and service issues.
  • Complete semi-annual van inspections in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all accidents and injuries are reported to Dispatch immediately.
  • Ensure Manager’s First Report of Accident is completed within 24 hours of accident and submit required accident information to Claims Department.
  • Ensure completion of documentation required for workers’ compensation claims.
  • Maintain open communications with drivers.
  • Contribute to team effort by supporting the Field Operations as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience and Education Requirements
  • This position requires a High School diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of one to two years management experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law
  • Have a clear understanding of the English language
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Valid Driver’s License with no more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years, no alcohol / drug related convictions within the last 3 years, no careless/reckless driving conviction with the last 3 years.
  • Clean Controlled Substance Screen
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Working knowledge of computer applications specifically Microsoft Office products.
