Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires an associate degree or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related leadership experience.

• Valid Driver License (Class C).
• Knowledge of inventory assets and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Direct oversight of dispatcher/routers, service technicians, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s), and shop.
• Review paperwork for manifests, routing tickets, DVIRs for completion and accuracy.
• Monitor service levels and deliveries to improve efficiency and customer care.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure positive regional communication.
• Resolve customer service and delivery issues and coordinate asset transfers with other branches.
• Maintain staffing levels to meet branch needs and analyze operational activity data.
• Develop and implement standard practices with the Regional VP for efficiency.
• Review DOT records and fleet logs; approve time punches and payroll inputs.
• Administer the safety program and coordinate safety training with Safety & HR.
• Oversee employee development and conduct performance reviews.

Job description

Primary Purpose

The Manager Field Ops is responsible for managing all operational functions at a branch.

Essential Functions

• Direct oversight of dispatcher/routers, service technicians, pick up & delivery drivers, yard personnel, fence crew(s), and shop
• Review of all paperwork including manifests, routing tickets, DVIRs, etc. for completion and accuracy
• Monitor all service levels and deliveries to ensure the best efficiencies. Recommend measures to improve operational practices and quality of customer care
• Work directly with other departments to ensure excellent/positive communication within the region
• Work with various departments to resolve customer service & delivery issues. Work with Operations Managers at other branches to coordinate asset transfers
• Maintain proper staffing levels to meet and exceed customer and branch needs
• Analyze and report on operational activities, i.e., service levels, routing efficiency, labor & overtime, and fuel
• Work with the Regional Vice President to develop and implement standard practices and efficiency recommendations
• Responsible for fleet DOT administration including, log books & record maintenance
• Review and approve e-time punches prior to submitting for payroll processing. Review and approve time off request forms and schedule time off based on operational necessity
• Administer the company's safety program at the branch. Work with Safety & HR departments to safety coordinate training, where necessary
• Responsible for employee development & conducting periodic performance reviews
• Create and maintain a positive, safe, and effective work environment
• Operate a variety of company vehicles
• Pull trailers with company vehicles
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has supervisory responsibilities for staff at the location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 Year / Associates Degree from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
