Job summary

MidPen Housing Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Area Lead for the Sonoma Region. The role provides hands-on maintenance support and operational leadership across multiple affordable housing communities.

You will coordinate inspections, oversee maintenance operations, vendors, and ensure regulatory requirements are met while supporting site teams and promoting high-quality service for residents. You'll work closely with the Regional Maintenance Supervisor and staff, travel between properties, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and three years of experience with property maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have three years of supervisory experience overseeing work crews and apartment turnovers at multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and assists in inspections, including unit, safety, and pre-agency inspections.
• Assists staff with planning/move-ins and move-outs and upcoming inspections.
• Oversees maintenance activities and work orders with RMS and site teams.
• Performs maintenance duties and coverage during staff vacations/illnesses.
• Maintains inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Keeps common areas clean and maintains curb appeal, including trash areas.
• Plans and assists with electrical, plumbing, painting, and grounds repairs.
• Ensures work orders are completed, documented, and closed properly.
• Prepares vacated units for re-occupancy; services appliances and finishes.
• Directs contractors and vendors; contributes to preventative maintenance improvements.
• Maintains safety for residents and staff; responds to emergencies as needed.
