Job summary

The State of Georgia, Department of Defense invites applications for a Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintenance and minor construction across facilities in the Columbus area. The role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and building integrity, with substantial travel and administrative duties.

Qualified candidates will have an associate degree or 3 years of relevant experience, and may need EPA Refrigerant Technician Certification within 3–6 months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field or 3 years of experience in engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities.
• EPA Refrigerant Technician Certification required within 3 - 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections of HVAC units, physical structures, plumbing fixtures/hardware and electrical devices.
• Carry out minor construction and repairs across multiple facilities.
• Travel up to 75% to assist at GA ARNG facilities statewide and provide high level customer service.
