Job summary

STV is seeking a Market Sector Lead - Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Practice Group in Houston or Dallas, TX. Lead hydrology/hydraulics analyses, manage projects, and mentor staff across stormwater, drainage, and floodplain initiatives.

Responsibilities include coordinating client relationships, developing proposals, and supporting business development while collaborating with regional and national teams to deliver resilient water infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/WRE or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional Engineer license required.
• Experienced in stormwater management and floodplain analysis.
• Proficient with HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/SWMM or equivalent modeling tools.
• ArcGIS or similar GIS platform knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watersheds, drainage systems, rivers, streams, and floodplains.
• Manage stormwater, drainage, floodplain mapping, flood-risk projects and budgets.
• Develop and review 1D/2D models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or XPSWMM.
• Serve as project manager or senior technical lead, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and staffing.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain client communication.
• Identify opportunities, lead proposals, statements of qualifications, and fee estimates.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers; support business development and client meetings.
