Job summary

STV, Inc. in Houston or Dallas, TX, seeks a Market Sector Lead - Water Resources Engineer to drive stormwater, drainage, floodplain management, and flood-risk projects.

You will provide technical leadership, project management, client development, and proposal support for our Water Practice Group. You will lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, manage multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and advance opportunities with municipal and state clients while collaborating with STV's regional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Demonstrable experience in stormwater modeling, floodplain management, and flood-risk projects.
• Experience with 1D/2D hydraulic modeling and FEMA floodplain mapping.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS or a comparable GIS platform.
• Ability to manage scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and staffing.
• Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for watersheds, drainage systems, rivers, streams, and floodplains.
• Manage stormwater, drainage, floodplain mapping, flood-risk assessment, and watershed planning projects.
• Develop and interpret 1D/2D models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, InfoWorks ICM, XPSWMM, or comparable platforms.
• Serve as project manager or senior technical lead, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and financial performance.
• Review calculations, models, reports, plans, specifications, and other deliverables.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain client communication.
• Develop resilient drainage and flood-control solutions, including green infrastructure and nature-based approaches.
• Build relationships with municipal, county, state, federal, and transportation agencies.
• Identify and pursue water resources opportunities; support proposals and interviews.
• Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
