Job summary

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a Regional Lands Specialist II to support on-the-ground land protection across the Great Lakes/Atlantic region. The role focuses on fee land acquisitions, conservation easements, and coordinating with landowners, agencies, and partners to advance conservation initiatives.

The position requires strong project management and communication skills, with a willingness to travel within GLAR states. A track record in land protection, plus advanced degrees, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Conservation planning and cultivating partnerships.
• Reporting to internal boards and external funders.
• Coordinate contractors and staff around organizational standards and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking and facilitating fee land acquisition and disposition and conservation easement acquisition.
• Coordinate tax and lease payments and stewardship obligations on easement properties.
• Manage disposition of fee property with takeout partner and ensure legal documentation is complete.
• Represent region on national lands team and inform policy and communications plans.
• Support development efforts to obtain funding for land transactions and easement endowments.
• Engage with private landowners and partners to grow a sustainable lands program.
