Job summary

DUCKS UNLIMITED, INC. seeks a Regional Lands Specialist to support on-ground land protection efforts across the GLAR region, including fee-title acquisitions and conservation easements.

The role will coordinate with biologists, GIS staff, and partners, traveling as needed from the O'Fallon or Dexter locations. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of land transaction experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex, multi-party projects with internal and external

Qualifications

• Candidate must understand real property acquisition and management and land trust alliance standards and practices.
• Responsibilities in conservation planning, cultivating partnerships, reporting to internal boards and external funders, and coordinating contractors and staff.
• Typically, at least 5 years of relevant experience; advanced degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• This position manages part of the regional GLAR lands portfolio and responsibilities by assisting with tracking and facilitating all components of fee land acquisition and disposition and conservation easement acquisition.
• Assist with reporting and coordinating capital expenditures and recoveries associated with conservation easements and fee title properties.
• Navigate conservation easements stewardship, enforcement responsibilities and requests with regional and national lands program staff.
• Help with managing a regional lands program database.
• Work with development staff to obtain funding assistance for land transactional costs and easement endowment contributions.
