Job summary

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. in the Great Lakes/Atlantic region seeks a Regional Lands Specialist to support on-the-ground land protection across the Missouri Confluence region and surrounding priority areas.

The role reports to the Great Lakes/Atlantic Regional Lands Manager and may be based in O'Fallon, IL or Dexter, MI. You will work with biologists, engineers, lands and GIS staff to advance fee-title acquisitions and conservation easements, collaborate with landowners and partners, and help manage

Qualifications

• Experience managing conservation-focused land transactions.
• Understanding real property acquisition and management and land trust alliance standards.
• Willingness to travel within GLAR states.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Typically at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Advanced degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking and facilitating all components of fee land acquisition and conservation easement acquisition.
• Support project coordination including tax and lease payments and stewardship obligations.
• Assist with reporting and coordinating capital expenditures related to easements and property.
• Navigate stewardship, enforcement responsibilities and requests with program staff.
• Help manage regional lands program database.
• Engage fundraising staff to obtain funding for land transactional costs.
