Position Summary

The Regional Human Resources Manager serves as the strategic HR partner for the Inland River region which spreads from Minnesota to Memphis, TN. This position provides leadership and guidance on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compliance, policy administration, organizational development, and employee engagement while ensuring consistent application of Company policies and employment laws. The Regional HR Manager partners closely with operational leadership to support business objectives and foster a positive, high-performing workplace. This position is based in Memphis, TN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary Human Resources business partner for assigned regional operations.
  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruiting efforts, including workforce planning, candidate selection, interviewing, and hiring decisions.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions or oversee recruitment activities in partnership with internal or external recruiting resources.
  • Develop and maintain effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates while supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Ensure a positive candidate and onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance management, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations.
  • Conduct and oversee workplace investigations involving policy violations, employee complaints, and other workplace concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable regulations.
  • Interpret and consistently apply Company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Partner with leaders to address performance concerns, develop corrective action plans, and improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance on leave administration, reasonable accommodations, and the interactive process.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, workforce planning, restructures, and departmental transitions.
  • Monitor and analyze HR trends, metrics, and employee data to identify risks and recommend solutions.
  • Promote employee engagement, retention, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Develop and facilitate management training on employment law, Company policies, leadership, and workplace practices.
  • Support compensation-related activities, including job evaluations, salary recommendations, and annual compensation planning.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
  • Conduct regular visits to assigned locations to build relationships and provide onsite HR support.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvements to HR processes and programs.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Experience
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supporting multiple locations or regional operations.
  • Experience managing full-cycle recruitment and partnering with hiring managers to fill exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, performance management, and employment law compliance.
  • Experience supporting operational environments such as logistics, transportation, manufacturing, marine terminals, or industrial operations is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong recruiting, interviewing, and candidate assessment skills.
  • Strong employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigative skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Proven ability to influence and coach leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and develop practical business solutions.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% within the assigned region.
