Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of HR experience.
  • Experience in recruiting and employee relations.
  • Leadership experience managing HR staff.

  • Experience handling employee counseling, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

Job Title: Manager, Human Resources Location: Rochester, MN 55901

Job Type: Full-time | Onsite

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Human Resources to lead employee relations and recruiting activities while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state employment regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting business leaders, managing HR staff, and driving HR initiatives that foster a positive and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for employees.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.

  • Prepare and maintain the employee handbook.

  • Supervise and lead recruiting and employee relations efforts while ensuring compliance, fairness, and consistency.

  • Manage HR Administrators and HR Generalists.

  • Develop departmental goals, objectives, systems, and process improvements.

  • Serve as a trusted resource to leaders and managers regarding employee-related matters.

  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR-related issues.

  • Handle employee counseling and recommend appropriate resolutions for workplace conflicts.

  • Assist with employee training programs, including interviewing, onboarding, handbook reviews, and harassment prevention training.

  • Perform routine plant tours and conduct audits, including attendance, computer usage, and HR records.

  • Prepare responses to unemployment claims and other legal matters and participate in hearings as needed while working with legal counsel.

  • Present HR-related information during employee meetings and other organizational meetings.

  • Manage the full recruitment process, including interviewing, selecting, extending offers, and onboarding new employees.

  • Utilize external recruiting resources, job advertisements, and online platforms when appropriate.

  • Recommend hiring decisions and administer disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

  • Perform additional HR-related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 6 years of Human Resources experience.

  • Extensive experience in recruiting and employee relations.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing HR Administrators and/or HR Generalists.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance.

  • Experience handling employee counseling, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, and sound judgment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and process improvement methodologies.

  • Strong customer service and client-focused mindset.

  • Effective negotiation, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities across multiple organizational levels.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and WebEx conferencing software.

  • Solid financial understanding, risk analysis, relationship management, and project management skills.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Additional Information
  • This is a fully onsite position located in Rochester, Minnesota.

  • Candidates must be able to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
