Job summary

MEC (Mayville Engineering Company, Inc.) seeks an experienced Human Resources leader to manage regional HR operations in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and retention programs to support site objectives.

The role partners with site leaders on workforce planning, coaches managers on strategic and tactical HR initiatives, and leads investigations while driving continuous improvement across HR processes and programs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent application of HR systems and initiatives for an assigned region including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and retention programs.
  • Partner with site leaders to address workforce planning and development needs.
  • Oversee generalist duties advising managers on strategic and tactical plans including employee discipline, internal investigations, and workforce planning.
  • Develop and deliver written communications and presentations; conduct training for managers and employees.
  • Oversee recruiting for hourly, salaried exempt and nonexempt employees, students, and temporary workers.
  • Assist employees and managers with goals, performance management, and calibrations.
  • Collaborate within HR to improve processes and programs delivering innovative solutions.
  • Perform managerial responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, coaching, directing work, performance management, and budgeting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles & practices of Human Resources HR regulations and compliance.
  • Demonstrated skills in employee relations w/ strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making; demonstrated ability to partner and influence at all levels in the business and to be viewed as a credible, valuable source of information and integral part of management team.
  • Excellent change management skills.
  • Strong organization and time management/project management skills necessary to prioritize and oversee project or team with multiple assignments and to meet set deadlines; ability to react quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate work with diverse groups of employees.
  • Solid computer skills; understanding of all interfaces impacting HR function administration.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, business, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum seven years of Human Resources experience.
  • Prior experience in employee relations required. Manufacturing industry experience highly preferred.
