Job summary

Atlas Outdoor in Flint, Michigan is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to act as an employee advocate, internal consultant, and business partner with management. You will manage day-to-day HR functions, support recruitment for the Detroit Region, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies.

The role requires coordinating the H2B and permanent residency processes, advising on performance and employee relations, and delivering excellent service to staff and managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business or related field.
• 10+ years of related work experience with proven HR expertise as demonstrated through related certifications
• 3-5 years of related experience, landscaping or manufacturing industry experience preferred
• HR Certification preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products and HCM systems
• Ability to travel to branch locations in the assigned region
• Flexible to work extended hours and modified shifts to support organizational events and activities
• Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead talent acquisition initiatives for the Detroit Region. Own the full-cycle recruiting for all locations in the region.
• Provide HR expertise to employees and managers. Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct new employee orientation and process new hire paperwork.
• Advise managers on performance management and employee relations issues. Support the documentation of performance and assist with terminations.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate the H2B program and Permanent Residence Card processes.
• Comply with all legal and governmental requirements including OSHA, EEO, ADA, FMLA, and Worker’s Compensation.
• Manage Human Resources systems to ensure data integrity, provide management with proper reporting to support business objectives and strategic initiatives, and policy development.
• Provide excellent customer service to candidates, employees, and managers by advising of proper solutions.
• Plan and coordinate employee appreciation events and community service activities. Participate in community activities and build relationships with community representatives.
• Lead or participate in internal and external audits.
• Create correspondence to employees and managers as needed.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
