Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education seeks a Human Resources Regional Assistant III to support talent management, HR policy guidance, and complex area leadership. This role develops and maintains regional HR processes, including position control, and provides critical support to schools and district staff.

Key duties include coordinating position actions and funding changes, handling background checks, managing leave accounting, and assisting with payroll and office operations.

Qualifications

• Progressively responsible general office clerical experience.
• Experience with office practices, procedures, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Independently determines and anticipates regional talent acquisition needs and manages position control.
• Monitors position actions and ensures documentation is complete for establishment/abolishment of positions, transfers, and funding changes.
• Provides options and advice on talent acquisition strategies to leadership and school administrators.
• Performs employee background clearance activities and related transactions.
• Maintains regional leave accounting and compliance with BU contracts and rules.
• Coordinates talent management activities including transfers, staffing and performance management.
• Draf ts documents related to grievance and disciplinary matters for HR leadership.
