Job summary

Ergon, Inc. seeks a Regional Health & Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across multiple asphalt plants in California. You will partner with plant leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive operational excellence.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field, 5+ years in manufacturing safety, and multi-site management. Travel across the region is expected; CSP/ASP/CHST/OHST are a plus, with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of safety experience in manufacturing, construction materials, heavy industry, or related environment.
• Multi-site safety management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigation, and risk management.
• Certifications CSP/ASP/CHST/OHST preferred.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
• Meet physical requirements including standing/walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders/tanks.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and support to multiple asphalt plants within the assigned region.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
• Lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees and supervisors.
• Monitor safety metrics, analyze trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support contractor safety management and emergency response preparedness.
• Partner with operations leadership to strengthen accountability and safety performance.
