Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Minimum 2+ years’ leadership experience including team development.
• Ability to synthesize data to build actionable recommendations.
• Strong critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams to achievement.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee grain elevators and elevator managers in designated region.
• Plan and organize procurement initiatives across the designated region with timelines.
• Develop strategies to outperform local competition in grain pricing and market share.
• Forecast supply and demand; oversee grain basis for elevators and feed mills.
• Build and maintain relationships with local farmers and with grain merchandising for strategic sales.
• Coordinate shipments with the transportation team.
• Produce daily/weekly/monthly procurement reports and translate insights into action items.
• Monitor obligations with Smithfield and suppliers; manage budgets and plans.
• Utilize technology to identify opportunities to improve business.
• Interpret markets and build relationships with producers to support procurement.
