Job summary

STA Family of Companies is seeking a General Manager to provide leadership to Operations/Terminal Managers across school transportation facilities in the region. This salaried, exempt role reports to the Vice President of Operations and drives high-quality customer service, financial performance, and policy compliance.

The GM will oversee day-to-day operations, guide managers, manage payroll and financials, and build strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics or equivalent.
• Experience managing multiple operating facilities or similar roles preferable.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% and work beyond 40 hours per week as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day facility operations.
• Provide leadership and evaluation of direct reports.
• Manage payroll, accounts receivable/payable and month-end processes.
• Develop relationships with customers through regular visits.
• Attend school board meetings related to contracts when required.
• Ensure compliance with school district contracts and leases.
• Monitor labor hours and routing to control costs and support financial plans.
• Lead monthly P&L and asset reporting to meet company objectives.
• Develop annual financial plans with VP-Ops and Finance.
• Support driver recruitment and new location startups as needed.
• Ensure adherence to STA policies and regulatory requirements.
