Reading Partners is a national nonprofit dedicated to helping children become lifelong readers by connecting them with community volunteers and evidence-based literacy support. As a Development and Fundraising Capacity Building VISTA, you will help Reading Partners strengthen the systems and infrastructure that make our work possible.

You will support the development of sustainable fundraising practices, prospect pipelines, donor engagement systems, corporate and community partnerships, and

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to organize, manage projects, and work collaboratively.
• Experience with prospect research, fundraising, donor engagement, data management, or corporate partnerships is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess regional fundraising systems, workflows, and development practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Research corporations, foundations, businesses, and community organizations aligned with Reading Partners' mission and develop prospect profiles.
• Build and maintain prospect and partnership tracking systems and identify opportunities for financial and in-kind support.
• Develop standardized outreach and partnership materials for Reading Partners staff.
• Create a donor stewardship framework, calendar, and reusable communication and recognition resources.
• Analyze donor and prospect information to identify opportunities to strengthen engagement and retention.
• Develop project plans, tracking tools, and resources to support fundraising campaigns and annual appeals.
• Organize development resources and document repeatable processes, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
