Job summary

Reading Partners is a national nonprofit committed to helping children become lifelong readers through community volunteers and evidence-based literacy support. As a Development and Fundraising Capacity Building VISTA, you will help strengthen systems and infrastructure that enable our work, supporting sustainable fundraising practices and national development strategies.

Qualifications

• Curious, organized, and collaborative with strong research, written communication, project management and analytical skills.
• Interest in nonprofit development, philanthropy, education, or community partnerships.
• Experience with prospect research, fundraising, donor engagement, data management, or corporate partnerships is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assess regional fundraising systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Research corporations, foundations, and communities aligned with Reading Partners' mission and build prospect profiles.
• Develop prospect/partnership tracking systems and identify opportunities for support.
• Create standardized outreach and partnership materials for staff.
• Develop donor stewardship framework, calendar, and communications resources.
• Analyze donor data to strengthen engagement and retention.
• Create project plans and tools to support campaigns and annual appeals.
• Document repeatable processes and best practices.
