Job summary

Border States in Odessa, TX is seeking a Fleet Specialist to partner with branch and regional leadership to improve fleet performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive safety initiatives. The role emphasizes hands-on training on Geotab, Lytx, Descartes, Fleetio, and Samba Safety, and requires up to 75% travel.

You will analyze performance data, develop improvement plans, and lead regional fleet projects while ensuring safety culture and operational excellence across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in fleet operations, transportation, logistics or a related field required.
• Valid Class A CDL (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire) required.
• Travel up to 75% of the time required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on training for branch administrators and drivers on fleet systems (Geotab, Lytx, Descartes, Fleetio, Samba Safety).
• Evaluate fleet operations to identify risks, compliance gaps, and improvement opportunities; propose corrective actions.
• Analyze driver performance data and develop improvement plans to boost safety and efficiency.
• Advise branch leadership on driver qualification, onboarding, training, and retention practices.
• Evaluate fleet maintenance and lifecycle data to improve reliability and cost efficiency.
• Support branch teams in maintaining DOT standards, including license and medical card renewals.
• Analyze fleet and safety metrics to identify trends and recommend actions to improve safety and productivity.
• Lead regional fleet improvement projects and compliance initiatives with independent judgment.
