Job summary

Border States in Nashville, TN is seeking a Fleet Specialist to serve as the regional fleet subject matter expert, partnering with branch and regional leadership to improve fleet performance, strengthen compliance programs, and drive safety initiatives.

The role analyzes fleet operations, evaluates performance trends, and develops recommendations that support regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic business objectives across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience, required.
• 3+ years in fleet operations, transportation, logistics or a related field, required.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on training for branch administrators and drivers on fleet systems including Geotab, Lytx, Descartes, Fleetio, and Samba Safety.
• Evaluates driver, vehicle, and branch fleet operations to identify risks, gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Analyzes driver performance data and develops targeted improvement plans to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Advises branch leadership on driver qualification, onboarding, training, and retention practices.
• Evaluates fleet maintenance performance and asset utilization trends to boost reliability and cost efficiency.
• Supports branch teams in maintaining compliance with company and DOT standards, including license/medical renewals.
• Analyzes fleet and safety metrics to identify trends and recommend strategic actions.
• Leads regional fleet improvement projects and prioritizes resources.
