Job summary

WM is seeking a Fleet Manager to oversee the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment across the assigned area. You will focus on profitability through effective fleet and maintenance management, cost control, and strong safety standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring safe vehicles, leading maintenance managers, reviewing capital requisitions, and promoting efficient asset utilization. You will also support budgets and staff development while ensuring compliance with WM’s Mission to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (accredited) or, in lieu of degree, a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) with 4 years of relevant experience.
• 5 years of previous experience in a related role.
• Driver's License valid upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements and conduct fleet evaluations.
• Lead maintenance managers to optimize performance and cost focus across the area.
• Review capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines.
• Utilize vehicle assets efficiently and ensure shops are staffed and mechanics trained.
• Ensure vehicle management systems are used effectively and maintain WM’s safety standards.
• Support budget processes and participate in financial reviews as required.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment through staff development and motivation.
• Oversee staffing needs, performance reviews, and promotion decisions.
