Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading fleet maintenance company in the US, is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead a team of technicians in a proactive PM program for heavy-duty vehicles in the Baltimore/Dundalk, MD area.

The role requires travel between sites, a strong background in fleet operations, and hands-on leadership. Competitive salary, weekly pay, and robust benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fleet maintenance or operations experience and 5–8 years in direct management.
• Prior technician/mechanic experience is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with heavy truck/trailer repair and maintenance.
• Travel as needed; oversee multiple shop locations.
• Thorough knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills; Excel, Word, fleet management systems and ERP/timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Lead, educate and develop employees.
• Monitor performance and be accessible to all shop areas.
• Oversee multiple shop operations.
• Plan daily manpower to meet workload.
• Support operations on all equipment issues.
• Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Handle payroll approval, repair order maintenance and compliance docs.
• Address corrective action for direct reports.
• Maintain clean, safe working conditions in the facility and equipment.
• Communicate with client to meet operation and company needs.
• Monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Interview and hire for shop positions.
