Job summary

Forvis Mazars US Executive Search Practice seeks a Regional Finance Director to oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the Houston and Miami regions. You will partner with regional leadership and CFO, drive planning, analyze project performance, and support strategic initiatives while ensuring GAAP compliance.

The role requires expertise in percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP, plus leadership of a finance team.

Qualifications

• Excellent understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Construction Management.
• 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in a project-based construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting and strategic financial planning processes
• Manage quarterly forecasts, scenario planning, and performance analysis
• Partner with project teams to ensure accurate forecasting, accounting, and financial reporting
• Monitor accounts receivable, billings, and cash flow performance
• Provide actionable insights on project performance, profitability, pricing, and resource allocation
• Analyze market, customer, and operational trends to support business decisions
• Support capital investment evaluations and strategic initiatives
• Lead regional financial reporting and budget-to-actual analysis, ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and support month-end close activities to maintain reporting accuracy
• Leverage ERP systems and Power BI to improve reporting and decision-making
• Partner closely with operations and executive leadership to drive business performance
• Develop, mentor, and lead finance team members
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and financial best practices

We have partnered with a leading, growth-oriented construction company where the Regional Finance Director will serve as a key financial partner to regional leadership and report directly to the CFO. This position will drive financial planning, forecasting, reporting, project analysis, and operational decision support across the region.
