Job summary

Forvis Mazars US Executive Search Practice seeks a Construction Director of FP&A to lead financial oversight of a multi-billion-dollar project portfolio. This on-site role reports to the CFO and partners with senior operations to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.

You will apply deep construction finance expertise to support strategic decisions, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and guide cross-functional teams across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Construction Management
• MBA, CPA or equivalent preferred
• 10+ years of finance / accounting with 5+ years of construction industry leadership
• Comprehensive understanding of percentage-of-completion, job costing, and GAAP
• Exposure to Vista and Power BI highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Direct budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning, driving financial analysis and performance forecasting
• Deliver financial and operational insights to drive business performance, assessing market trends and strategic opportunities to support investment decisions and key business initiatives
• Utilize ERP and analytics tools to improve business insights and oversee regional financial reporting and budget performance, driving accurate close processes and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate project financials, reporting, and accounting; manage cash flow, billings and receivables performance
• Develop high-performing finance teams, driving continuous improvement and finance excellence

Construction Director of FP&A – OH, FL or TX (must be local and work on-site)

We have partnered with a nationally recognized leader in the specialty construction space to identify a construction industry Director of FP&A who will lead a high-performing team responsible for the financial oversight of a multi-billion-dollar project portfolio exceeding $2B annually. This strategic leader reports to the CFO and will serve as a key member of the finance leadership team, driving financial planning, forecasting, performance reporting, project profitability analysis, and operational decision support across the region.

This highly visible role requires proven skill set with deep expertise in large-scale construction project finance, a track record of leading sophisticated finance organizations, and the ability to influence business strategy at the highest levels of the organization.
