Job summary

Pomeroy is seeking a Regional Field Service Technician to service assigned zones and assist in others to ensure calls are completed within SLA. The role requires traveling to client sites, maintaining inventory and submitting detailed call notes in a web-based ticketing system.

The position is part-time, involves evening/weekend on-call readiness, and requires a clean driving record. Strong customer service, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AS/BS in a related technical field desirable but not required.
• Certifications such as A+, Net+, Server+ or similar desirable.
• Minimum 1 year POS repair, Network equipment repair or PC repair experience.
• Minimum 1 year break-fix or network experience in retail or office setting preferred.
• Must have safety orientation and clean MVR.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment to sub-assembly level.
• Prior low voltage/voice data cabling experience preferred.
• Ability to operate tools and testers for hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service and strong verbal/written communication.
• Must manage SLA expectations and work independently as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders up to 15 feet, and use aerial platforms.
• Willingness to travel 75-100% (preferred).
• Work Location: On the road (field service)

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned service zone and assist other zones to meet SLA.
• Maintain company vehicle or records for mileage when using personal vehicle.
• Maintain a clean MVR and proof of insurance when required.
• Provide IT hardware/software support in retail/office environments.
• Follow inventory guidelines for inbound parts, defects, returns, and records.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and professional appearance.
• Use web-based ticketing system to update tickets daily with status, notes, equipment, serials, returns, parts usage and resolutions.
