AlphaStaffHCM is seeking a Regional Field Sales Trainer in California to coach retail sales teams on protection plan programs, deliver in-person and virtual sessions, and drive higher attachment rates across the client’s retail network.

You will travel within the state, train diverse groups, and collaborate with account managers to align initiatives with client goals. The role requires a strong training background, sales experience, and willingness to work weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is searching for a RegionalField Sales Trainer for our premier clients, a market leader in furniture protection plans serving top-tier retailers nationwide. In this role, you will play a vital part in driving the success of their protection plan programs by equipping retail sales teams with the skills and knowledge to succeed. This position blends sales training and account management, requiring someone who thrives in building relationships, delivering impactful training sessions, and representing the brand with professionalism. You'll work closely with retail partners to ensure their sales teams are confident, motivated, and effective in offering these industry-leading solutions.

Location:

Must be California based with travel throughout the state and virtual flexibility; candidates must reside in or near the San Diego, La Mirada, Sacramento, San Fransico/ The Bay Area, Anaheim, Irvine area or be willing to relocate.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions to retail sales associates, managers, and leadership, focusing on effective strategies to increase protection plan attachment rates.
• Act as a trusted brand ambassador, fostering strong relationships with furniture store partners to reinforce their confidence in the company's products and services.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching, group presentations, and new hire training sessions tailored to retail sales environments.
• Collaborate with management teams to assess training needs, set goals, and measure the impact of training programs.
• Support ongoing learning through follow-ups, remote consultations, and leveraging tools like Microsoft Teams, and PowerPoint.
• Serve as the point of contact for escalated inquiries related to claims, policies, and procedures, ensuring resolution and building customer loyalty.
• Track and manage training schedules, store visits, and performance metrics across an assigned territory.
• Travel within the assigned region (including overnight trips as needed) to conduct in-store training and strengthen relationships with retail teams.
• Partner with account managers to align training initiatives with broader client strategies and goals.

Must Have Qualifications

• Proven success in retail sales, sales training, or account management, with experience in furniture or warranty-related sales a plus.
• Excellent facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver engaging and impactful training sessions to both small (3-5) and medium (15-20+) groups.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to connect with retail teams, store managers, and corporate.
• High energy and confidence, with the ability to motivate, educate, and inspire others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms like Teams and Zoom.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work weekends and occasional holidays to accommodate retail schedules.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout your assigned region for store visits, including occasional overnight stays.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in sales training, leadership, or account management.
• 80% travel requirement for store visits and onsite client meetings.

• Competitive compensation package, including base salary and quarterly performance-based incentives (total target compensation base salary of $75,000–$85,000 based on experience and other credentials and potential bonus opportunity).
