Job summary

Ergon, Inc. seeks a Regional Environmental Specialist to support day-to-day environmental compliance across asphalt and petroleum plants and terminals in a defined region.

This field-based role focuses on inspections, waste management, spill response, sampling, and keeping site records audit-ready. You will work closely with the corporate EHS team, outside consultants, and regulators on permit applications and complex reporting while traveling regionally to ensure consistent compliance across

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field preferred; hands-on experience considered in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years of environmental/EHS/compliance experience in industrial settings preferred; strong field aptitude considered for entry-level.
• Familiarity with waste management, spill prevention, and stormwater topics is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day environmental point of contact for multiple plants and terminals within a region.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and self-audits; track findings to correction.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling; coordinate with disposal vendors.
• Support SPCC and SWPPP programs through inspections and equipment maintenance.
• Respond to spills/incidents; assist with cleanup coordination and reporting.
• Collect environmental samples and coordinate with labs; compile data for reports.
