Job summary

Challenger School seeks an adept facilities maintenance manager to lead our maintenance team in the Bay Area, ensuring safe, clean, and well-manicured schools for children, parents, and staff. Preferred candidates will have experience managing technicians remotely to accomplish overall goals.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training, hands-on maintenance of buildings and systems, OSHA compliance, and budget/project management. Excellent communication and a strong work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience managing a team of facility maintenance technicians.
• 3-5 years hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and remodeling.
• Strong computing basics with Outlook, Excel & Word.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and train maintenance personnel across the Bay Area; manage contractors.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair on buildings, equipment, lighting, HVAC, and water systems.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and licensing; satisfy safety and operational requirements.
• Manage budgets, projects, and remodels in the region; support additional duties as needed.
