Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a Regional Facilities Manager to supervise maintenance across the district’s facilities, ensuring safe, compliant operations and efficient use of labor and materials.

The role requires strong leadership, CMMS proficiency, and collaboration with schools, contractors, and vendors. It includes staff supervision, training, and adherence to safety standards in a dynamic education environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Five years of demonstrated experience in facilities management, design, construction, or related areas.
• Two years of experience leading work teams.
• Other combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance and repair of 5+ million square feet of WCPSS and related equipment.
• Evaluates service effectiveness and initiates changes to protect resources and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Conducts regular facility inspections and documents needs in CMMS.
• Manages coordination of personnel, contractors, and vendors to meet project specs.
• Uses financial tools to manage supply, materials, and tool expenditures.
• Liaises between schools and Maintenance & Operations, and assists with training of AFMs and FMTs.
• Supports fiscal management, purchasing guidelines, and maintenance best practices.
