Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an Area Experience Leader to oversee a portfolio of 4–6 retail offices, delivering a consistent consultative client experience and strong business results.

You will coach Tax Professionals and Client Service Professionals, balance strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, and ensure office readiness, staffing, facilities, and compliance across locations. You’ll travel frequently between offices, drive performance, and lead initiatives to improve client acquisition

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years leading teams in multi‑unit retail/service/ops with performance accountability.
• Strong client‑centric mindset; experience delivering consultative client experience.
• Proven leadership to coach, develop and hold teams accountable.
• Ability to drive business and financial results across multiple locations.
• Experience leading through change and adoption of new processes.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands across locations and exercise judgment.
• Experience in facilities, staffing, or compliance operations.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds and travel frequently.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own consistent delivery of the consultative client experience across 4–6 offices.
• Evaluate execution quality and client impact; reinforce strengths and close gaps.
• Lead adoption of new client experience processes, tools, and behaviors.
• Coach Tax Professionals and Client Service Professionals for consistent performance.
• Provide coaching based on observed behaviours and real‑time feedback.
• Identify patterns, address performance gaps, and develop bench strength.
• Own revenue, growth, and operational performance across offices.
• Monitor metrics and trends; implement actions to improve results.
• Ensure daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and compliance across offices.
• Oversee office readiness, facilities, recruiting, onboarding, and seasonal prep.
