Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a senior estimator to lead regional estimating functions, manage budgets, staffing, and procurement support. The role requires strong cost control, bid preparation, and cross‑disciplinary coordination to ensure accurate, competitive proposals.

The position emphasizes collaboration with project managers, design leads, and regional leadership to optimize strategies, data, and resources while maintaining high standards of accuracy and constructability. Travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. 10 years of related experience with at least 3 of those years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the estimating functions in assigned region, area or group to include operating budgets, staffing assignments, and work assignments.
• Implements established estimating policies in in assigned region, area or group to meet overall corporate objectives.
• Works with project managers to provide administrative and technical assistance in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders during procurement.
• Supervises the preparation of market cost studies, materials and methods, and recommends appropriate changes to database.
• Assists region leadership by reviewing project details and provides recommendations, and collaboratively determines strategies, techniques, and resources needed.
