Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking a senior Estimator/Cost Manager to lead estimating functions across regions. You will work with project managers to procure and price subcontracts, maintain cost databases, and ensure accurate final estimates for proposals.

Travel 20–40% may be required; the role requires 10 years of related experience with at least 3 in supervision, plus strong MS Excel and estimating software skills.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related estimating experience with at least 3 in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency varies by project.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers estimating functions, including budgets, staffing, and work assignments.
• Implements estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Supports procurement with subcontract, change order pricing and negotiation.
• Oversees cost studies, materials/methods data and database updates.
• Reviews project details with region leadership to determine strategies and resources.
• Coordinates with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability in proposals.
• Ensures standardized use of estimating systems and maintains historical data on estimates.
