Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Estimator in the United States to lead estimating across regions and support project managers in procurement. You will oversee budgets, staffing and work assignments, and implement established estimating policies to meet corporate goals.

Role involves supervising cost studies, maintaining the estimating database, and coordinating with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability. Travel 20–40% may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 10 years of related experience with at least 3 in a supervisory capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers estimating functions, budgets, staffing and work assignments.
• Implements estimating policies to meet corporate objectives.
• Supports project managers in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders.
• Supervises market cost studies and updates the database.
• Assists leadership with project reviews and strategy development.
• Coordinates with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability.
• Ensures standardized use of approved estimating systems and database maintenance.
• Maintains historical data for estimating man-hours and bid results.
• Reviews final estimates and proposal packages for accuracy.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Performs additional duties as required.
