Job summary

STV is seeking a senior environmental engineering leader in the New York region. The candidate will manage multi-disciplinary projects, guide teams, and drive business development while ensuring high-quality deliverables and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes project management, design leadership, and a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the regional practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in environmental or civil engineering; NYS PE license required; other licenses a plus.
• Fifteen years of relevant environmental regulations, remediation design and project experience.
• Proven experience in environmental engineering, design, and project management.
• Proficiency with environmental modeling software, GIS, AutoCAD, and related tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of coordinating with regulators and clients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead and project manager on projects across the region.
• Assess team talent, build skills, and grow the practice; staff as needed.
• Lead environmental engineering and design projects with strategic direction.
• Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget; manage resources and QA.
• Promote innovation, digital delivery, and technology adoption in the NY region.
• Lead quality efforts for Environmental Engineering Practice; ensure safety and budget adherence.
• Develop teams and coordinate resource use to maintain high billability and utilization.
• Support business development; proposals, client presentations, negotiations.
• Maintain industry leadership and stay current with trends and best practices.
• Develop reports, drawings, and specs detailing remediation plans and designs.
• Coordinate with agencies, stakeholders, and contractors for permits and approvals.
• Manage projects from initiation to completion including budgeting and scheduling.
• Collaborate with market/BD/discipline leaders on environmental initiatives and client relationships.
• Prepare proposals with marketing and technical staff; assist with go/no-go decisions.
• Sign and seal design documents as a Professional Engineer; target 60% utilization.
