Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a senior technical lead and project manager for environmental engineering projects in the New York metropolitan area. You will guide project teams, ensure technical excellence, and align work with client and company goals.

You will develop staff, drive innovation, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver compliant, on-time projects with a strong emphasis on quality and client relationships. A NY PE license and 15+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in environmental regulations, investigation, remediation design and compliance.
  • Experience leading environmental engineering and design projects with PM responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, remediation technologies, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a technical lead and project manager on an assortment of projects throughout the region. Assess the existing team talent, build skills in the group, add staff as necessary to grow the practice. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage people, their development and a plan for improvement to be the best, while supporting business objectives.
  • Lead environmental engineering and design projects. Provide strategic leadership and direction for the practice, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead or support project teams as the Project Manager/Design Manager and deliver projects on time and within scope and budget.
  • Develop some level of consistency throughout the New York metropolitan region and so that work may be shared seamlessly while promoting innovation, digital delivery and technology.
  • Lead the Quality effort for Environmental Engineering Practice. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary requirements. Support collaboration between geography management and discipline.
  • Develop our teams in the New York Environmental Engineering practice. Coordinate resource use and maintain a high group billability/utilization.
  • Support and lead business development efforts, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and negotiations, to expand the company's portfolio of projects.
  • Thought leadership and strong recognition in the industry. Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the practice in the Region.
  • Develop technical reports, drawings, and specifications detailing remediation plans, system designs, and implementation procedures.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and contractors to obtain permits, approvals, and support for remediation projects.
  • Manage environmental engineering and design projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality assurance.
  • Work with market/BD/discipline leaders within the firm on various environmental business initiatives and further develop and enhance client relationships within the environmental field at the local/state level.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with a diverse group of existing and prospective clients; utilize the resources of STV staff as internal contacts for new leads when suitable; operate in a team environment collaborating with others on the development of clients and business opportunities.
  • Prepare/coordinate proposals in conjunction with the marketing and technical staff.
  • Assist with "Go/No Go" decisions for responding to RFP's. Marshall the necessary resources on proposal opportunities which may involve developing a proposal strategy, writing portions of the proposal, and coordinating efforts of other technical writers to develop a winning proposal.
  • Sign and seal design documents as a Professional Engineer. Maintain utilization of 60%.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in environmental or civil engineering, or a related technical field. New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional licensure (e.g., PE in NJ/PA/CT/MA) is a plus.
  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant experience in environmental regulations, environmental investigation, remediation design and compliance, along with environmental construction support experience.
  • Proven experience in environmental engineering and design, and project management. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, remediation technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in environmental modeling software, GIS, AutoCAD, and other relevant technical tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Experience managing multiple phases of environmental projects including execution and/or delegation of work, schedule, cost, quality and client relationship.
  • Experience with the preparation of design plans and technical specifications for sub-slab depressurization systems (SSDS) and gas vapor barriers (GVB). Experience with SVE, air sparging, multi-phase extraction, and in-situ chemical oxidation/bioremediation a plus.
  • Experience with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) preferred.
  • Experience with MTA as Environmental Manager as plus. Experience with NYC School Construction Authority a plus.
  • Experience managing task order contracts and mid- to large-scale infrastructure projects a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to project sites and client meetings.

Compensation Range:

$167,632.13 - $191,579.57
