Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Michigan and Indiana is seeking a Regional Environmental Compliance Manager to lead and coordinate environmental compliance across multiple facilities.

You will oversee permits, reporting, and regulatory interactions, guiding operations to meet federal, state, and local requirements while balancing safety and efficiency. The role requires extensive knowledge of RCRA, CWA, SPCC, and related regulations, 4-year degree, and 10 years of progressive experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural sciences or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive field experience in environmental management, compliance, and permitting.
• Expertise with federal and state environmental regulations (RCRA, CERCLA, CWA/NPDES, CAA/TITLE V, SPCC, NSPS, EPCRA, UST).
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel 60% with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee permitting, sampling, reporting and recordkeeping for facilities.
• Coordinate with operations and regulatory agencies to ensure full compliance.
• Train operations on permit and regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Engage with third parties to support environmental compliance activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of safety, design, and regulatory practices.
