Job summary

Reworld is seeking a Facility Environmental Manager to lead environmental programs across multiple sites in the US, including Indianapolis, IN. You will ensure regulatory compliance, train staff, coordinate audits, and manage relationships with regulators and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science (biology, chemistry, environmental science, occupational health, safety) or engineering; or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of Clean Water Act, SPCC, EPCRA, and RCRA requirements.
• 5 years of experience as a safety/environmental professional responsible for compliance in CWA/CAA/RCRA standards.
• Ability to read and interpret environmental rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math, statistics, and geometry concepts.
• Knowledge of solid waste permitting requirements and related reporting requirements.
• Understanding of regulatory relationships at local to federal levels.
• Proven ability to use critical thinking to solve compliance issues.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate worker training in areas governed by EPA and other agencies.
• Onboard and orient new employees.
• Investigate and report compliance near-misses and inspections.
• Ensure training on HAZWOPER, DOT HazMat, SPCC, SWPPP, RCRA, and related programs.
• Perform external and internal audits of environmental practices.
• Manage relationships with regulatory authorities and community.
• Maintain environmental licenses and permits and review non-routine reporting.
• Develop strategies to mitigate compliance risks and keep programs current.
• Co-administer environmental systems and accounts.
• Collaborate with compliance leads to finalize incident reports and monthly stats.
