Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a senior estimator to lead estimating functions across a region, guiding budgets, staffing, and bid preparation. You will work with project managers on procurement and with design teams to optimize constructability and cost.

The role requires extensive experience in estimating, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Travel may be required across regions.

Qualifications

• 10 years of related experience with at least 3 in a supervisory or management capacity.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer estimating functions for the region, area or group, including budgets, staffing and work assignments.
• Support project managers in negotiating purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders during procurement.
• Oversee market cost studies, materials and methods, and updates to the cost database.
• Coordinate with design leads for cost effectiveness and constructability in proposals.
• Ensure standardized use of estimating systems and maintain historical data for bid results by project.
