Job summary

Ocean Spray is seeking a Regional EHS Specialist to uphold environmental, health, and safety standards across our receiving plants. You’ll develop and deliver training, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement with Ag Operations to minimize risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will support incident investigations, participate in safety committees, and coach teams on safe practices while aligning with corporate expectations and harvest-season demands.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree preferred; professional experience acceptable.
  • Minimum 1 year of EHS or safety related experience.
  • Strong communication and training delivery skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Support EHS function to comply with corporate, plant, and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and deliver environmental and safety training (in person and online).
  • Conduct regular safety and environmental audits and inspections.
  • Lead safety committee meetings and coach safe work practices.
  • Assist in incident investigations and emergency response efforts.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to improve EHS programs.

Ocean Spray is hiring for a(n) Regional EHS Specialist! We’re a team of farmers, thinkers, creators, and doers. Three maverick farmers started it all — and we’ve been making our own way ever since.The EHS Specialist will ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment at our receiving plants. You will implement policies, procedures, and training programs to minimize risks, prevent accidents, and maintain regulatory compliance. Conducting regular inspections and audits, you will identify hazards and potential risks, and implement corrective measures to mitigate them. You will also collaborate with Ag Operations teams to improve EHS programs, provide guidance on safety protocols, and support incident investigations and emergency response efforts.A Day in the Life...• The EHS Specialist will work to support the EHS function in compliance to corporate, plant and regulatory expectations. • Identify, coordinate and implement safety and environmental improvement plans. • Develop and deliver environmental and safety training both in person and electronically. • Participate in regularly scheduled safety committee meetings. • Observe work practices and interact/coach safe work practices with employees and supervisors • Perform Job Safety Analyses, PPE assessments and make recommendations for improvement. • Perform regular facility environmental, health and safety audits and employee competency testing. • Oversee inspection, maintenance and upkeep of safety equipment (fall protection, respiratory protection, confined space entry etc.). • Develop and communicate weekly safety toolbox talks. • Maintain and oversee the Shock Watch system. • Perform other job related duties as assigned. • Work with supervisors and other appropriate leaders on safety incidents.What We Are Looking For:• Associate’s Degree or professional experience and/or technical school and certifications in environmental, occupational safety or related area preferred • The incumbent needs a diversified background in leading others either directly or indirectly • Experience as a trainer • Good oral and written communication skills • Valid Driver’s License • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and regulations • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels • Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time during the eight or twelve hour shift • Year-round position with heavy emphasis during harvest months (late August-early November), at which time the facilities will run 24/7 and may have limited days off • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work constructively in team environment • Experience with computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook) • All job offers are contingent on a successful background checkEducation:Associates Degree (Preferred)Work Experience:At least 1 Year of ExperienceBenefits:Complete insurance package on Day-1 that includes a plethora of health and wellness programsHealth, Dental, and Vision insuranceHealth savings accountFlexible spending accountLife and accident insuranceEmployee assistance programTelehealth services1:1 health coachingSupportive benefits for all the stages of your life401(k) with up to 6% Company matching; additional potential discretionary match at year-endShort-Term Incentive/Performance bonusesFlexible scheduling optionsVacation pay, up to three weeks of time (pro-rated for your first year of employment)Holiday pay for 12 holidaysCareer development and growth opportunitiesTuition/Education assistance programsAccess to LinkedIn LearningScholarship programs for children of employeesParental leaveBright Horizons Family Solutions – Back-up care, tutoring, etc.Adoption assistanceBereavement leaveUp to $300 fitness reimbursementUp to $300 massage reimbursementEmployee appreciation eventsEmployee discountsCharitable givingWho We Are:You might have our iconic cranberry juice in your fridge or have gotten into heated holiday debate about what’s better - canned or fresh cranberry sauce.
